Andrea Haidar (she/her) is a licensed clinical social worker, certified yoga teacher, and doctoral student in clinical psychology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She works as a graduate research assistant in the M-Body lab. Andrea’s work is focused on addressing health disparities and increasing the accessibility of mental health services for people of color, immigrants, and refugees. She is particularly interested in mindfulness-based interventions and trauma-informed care. She previously worked as a therapist at the Inner-City Muslim Action Network, providing services in English, Spanish, and Arabic. Andrea holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago, where she also completed her undergraduate studies in sociology. Andrea enjoys reading fiction, creative writing, walking by Lake Michigan, and engaging in joyful movement (everything from dancing with her husband to lifting weights and playing pickleball).
